FloraBase 3 officially launched

Today's event was a great way for the Western Australian Herbarium to celebrate National Science Week - with the long-awaited launch of FloraBase 3!

DBCA Executive Director Dr Mark Webb steps in for the Environment Minister to launch FloraBase 3.

Since I first began developing it in 1995(!) FloraBase - the Western Australian Flora has been through two previous major revisions since it's release on the internet in November 1998 (version 2 was released in 2003), so this new release has been a long time coming and holds some great innovations, especially the addition of interactive mapping of species distributions.

Congratulations to developer Ben Richardson and all the WA Herbarium staff involved in seeing this new version to fruition!
